Myths
It's not what you do, it's how you do it.
If you look closely at some of the best dancers in the world, it's not what they do that inspires you, it's how they do it.
The how is the key word.
The ability to make whatever you're doing look good, regardless of whether it's a complicated move or just basics is what separates dancers from dancers.
Focus on the how & the results will follow!
Slow is Pro.
There is no doubt. It is often just as difficult, if not harder to do something slow (& well) then it is to fudge your way doing it fast.
There is a difference between a dancer choosing to dance fast over slow, or a dancer struggling to dance anything else but fast.
The difference is in the why.
Dancers that only seem to feel comfortable dancing fast can sometimes be masking an insecurity within in their dancing. When music slows down, time stretches & lengthens. That time then needs to be filled with movement.
It therefor makes sense that dancers that struggle dancing slow, often do so as they struggle with body movement. Yes that may be a generalisation however the best dancers are the ones that can dance to any tempo, comfortably.
Get comfortable with body movement & notice how you'll start to prefer slower paced songs.
They allow you time to actually, dance!
